• Always follow the instructions of your driver/guide.
• Stay inside the vehicle at all times, except at official stops.
• Keep a safe distance from wildlife; never feed animals.
• Take photos only from the pop-up roof or through the window.
• Keep windows closed in areas with monkeys or baboons.
• Do not lean out or extend cameras too far outside the vehicle.
• Stay quiet around predators such as lions or cheetahs.
• Do not touch animals, even if they seem calm.
• Carry out all your trash; never leave anything behind.

Safety Outside the Parks

• Always carry your bag in front of you.
• Hold your phone securely in public places.
• Avoid wearing expensive jewelry.
• Use your personal driver for all transportation.
• Avoid walking alone in unknown areas after dark.
• Do not use public transport (matatus).
• Keep your passport in the hotel safe.
• Prefer paying with M-Pesa or debit card.

Culture & Local Interaction

• Kenyans are friendly, social, and helpful.
• Stay polite, even when you need to be cautious.
• Vendors can be persistent — kindness works best.
• Always ask permission before taking photos of people.
• Photos with Maasai often come with a small fee.
• Dress modestly in villages, churches, and mosques.
• Respect religious customs and beliefs.
• Expect that small “helpful services” may come with a tip request.

Money, Payments & M-Pesa

• Carry some cash with you (50, 100, 200 KES notes).
• M-Pesa is the cheapest and safest way to pay in Kenya.
• Activate M-Pesa at an official Safaricom customer center.
• You can top up your M-Pesa wallet using WorldRemit from Europe.
• For larger purchases, ask your driver to assist.
• To avoid overcharging, shop at major supermarkets (Naivas, Carrefour).
• Never exchange money on the street.

Health & Hygiene

• Drink only bottled water.
• Use hand sanitizer before eating.
• Use sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
• Avoid ice cubes and tap water.
• Do not eat raw street food.
• Carry a basic first-aid kit (bandages, ORS, painkillers).

• Light clothing in natural colors.
• A warm sweater or jacket for mornings.
• Comfortable walking shoes.

During travel days, we plan short 1–2 hour excursions that lie directly on the route and do not delay the journey.

• Local market stop (cost depends on purchases)
• Bombolulu Cultural Centre (approx. 1,000 KES per person)

Emergency & Contact

• You receive a Safaricom SIM card with €25 airtime.
• Your driver carries a company phone with GPS tracking.
• Our office is available 24/7 for assistance.
• In case of a emergency, the driver will take you to the nearest hospital of post.
• We have backup drivers available in case of emergencies.
• the driver will always stay with you and will report incidents to our office.
• If your flight is delayed, we adjust your itinerary whenever possible.
